Teen Leader: Dylan Mongan
Description: One of the most rewarding experiences in 4-H is the opportunity to practice public speaking. The Presentation project is designed to help members learn about, prepare and practice for the several different kinds of speech competitions available to 4-H members, such as Interpretive Readings, Demonstrations and Illustrated Talks, and Impromptu Speeches. This project is both an introduction to 4-H Presentations, designed to help members who are unfamiliar with the categories to learn about the opportunities available, and it will also help more experienced members to broaden their skills and fine tune their presentation techniques.
Expectations:
Topics: Speaking with confidence, delivery techniques, choosing and perfecting a topic; learning about available categories (Impromptu Speeches, Interpretive Reading, Prepared Speech, Illustrated Talk, Demonstration, Educational Display Talk).
Meetings: Date and time TBD, once a week or two weeks, in January, February and March
Age: any Min: 3 Max: 10
Competition Opportunities: The goal will be to attend County Presentation Day in March, with an entry in at least one category. Gold medal recipients can move on to Sectional/State level 4-H competitions.
Cost: Minimal entrance fee for County Presentation Day.
